As a Senior Human Resources Generalist you will work as a liaison between the company and its team members. You will have a voice in determining the priorities and engage or lead projects to ensure positive change outcomes. The HR Professional in this role is expected to have a clear understanding of all the different work streams within Human Resources including recruitment, compensation, payroll and benefits, and LOA/FMLA.   Must have a strong knowledge of employment law to manage sensitive issues and assess risk. In this role you will be expected to help coach and mentor the HR Generalists on the team on day to day activities and will share best practices and help to level set and problem solve. You will act as a trusted advisor on reviewing the results of internal investigations and offer suggestions for resolution prior to bringing the case to closure. A strong sense of empathy is required.

 

Responsibilities

• Works with company management and HR Generalists to develop, implement and analyze human resource policies. Will suggest policies to run the business and retain the best employees. The Senior HR Generalist will help find ways for current team members to succeed at the company.
• Requires well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people of varying background and cultures. Must be able to make fair, unbiased decisions and stay level-headed in difficult situations. Senior HR Generalist must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Exhibits critical thinking skills and quickly thinks a problem through making authoritative, autonomous decisions.
• Assist with HR paperwork to include but not limited to: writing, revising, editing, and proofreading HR communications, change forms and company policies and procedures.
• Assists with various HR services including talent acquisition, recruiting, business partnership, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, records management, safety, employee relations, EEO compliance, and employee events.
• Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
• Completes special projects by clarifying project objectives, establishing/setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions. Assists with improving manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing solutions
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed action.
• Responsible for providing effective, accurate, and proactive guidance to specified member or members of the HR team. 

• Acts as a point of contact for managers and team members who require HR assistance.
• May prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reason behind separations.
• Responds to queries and requests for assistance; directs concerns to the appropriate HR team member. Provides support to members of the HR unit as needed.

• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of related HR Generalist experience

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• SHRM CP or SCP preferred
• Experience acting as a lead or manager preferred
• Extensive knowledge of leave of absence/FMLA and Worker’s Comp and employment law
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to lead and provide day to day workflow assignments
• Works independently and manages multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills 
• Experience speaking in front of groups
• Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically in MS Excel and Outlook
