Under general supervision of the Director of HR, the Human Resources Generalist provides a wide variety of both administrative and professional services. This position will be involved in several areas of Human Resources including but not limited to: conducting investigations, managing employee leaves of absence, handling complex employee relations issues, assisting with the rollout of corporate programs, and other duties as assigned. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.


  • Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action.
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.
  • Facilitates or provides training to team members on HR related topics such as systems, policies, procedures, employee relations counseling, and exit interviewing. 
  • Responds to and manages employee relation issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations. 
  • Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.


  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • 4+ years in Human Resources or related field
  • Strong background in human resources training and development required
  • Prior experience in employee relations counseling required
  • Knowledge of leave of absence/FMLA and Worker’s Comp is a plus
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 
  • Experience speaking in front of groups
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically in MS Excel and Outlook
  • Strong organizational, prioritization skills, and attention to detail
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality
  • Ability to research and analyze various and different types of data and information
  • Knowledge of employment laws and other government compliance regulations
  • Able to project a friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor
