Participates in operational improvement projects including the documentation of detailed business and system requirements and data analysis. Develops project documentation according to company and industry standards; assists in process improvement and helps to determine efficient and effective ways to ensure project teams build quality requirements. Serves as a liaison between business owners, end users, and IT partners ensuring cohesive approach, comprehensive solutions, and excellence in delivery. Responds to ad-hoc requests for support and analysis. Requires limited supervision and technical assistance.


  • Partners with business areas to review documentation at beginning of projects to help develop complete business requirements. Facilitates all-day business requirement sessions with over 10 cross-functional business and technology subject matter experts to develop robust use cases, business requirements, process flows, and diagrams.
  • Maintains requirements documentation to ensure all approved business requirements, use cases, process flows, and reporting requirements are up-to-date.
  • Conducts audits of business requirement artifacts to ensure requirements are complete, clear, verifiable, and appropriate. Coaches requirement writers to improve quality and apply industry best practices.
  • Creates job aids, desk level procedures, and training procedures on all requirements processes. Educates business areas and requirement writers on processes.
  • Supports continuous improvement of requirement processes. Leads thorough review and analysis of lessons learned to identify operational inefficiencies and offers recommendations and possible solutions.
  • Ensures, after requirements documentation is approved, that all appropriate documents are updated and all approvals and documentation are stored centrally for project teams.
  • Develops Excel reporting for the Business Project Office to measure and track requirement success. Cultivates method to alert leadership team when projects need additional attention for requirements. Constructs efficient methods of collecting data for metrics.


Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 3-5 years’ experience with requirements gathering.
  • 3-5 years’ experience of document management (maintaining and updating organizational use cases and requirements).
  • 3-5 years’ experience in corporate environments. Preferably experience in large programs and projects end-to-end; a plus if in healthcare industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, be detail oriented, be responsive, and be able to work under aggressive deadlines. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to think critically and independently.
  • Proven ability to manage and drive projects to completion with leadership and management engagement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven experience creating and using metrics to drive decision making.
  • Excellent communicator (verbal/written).
