Overview

This position assures all paper invoices are accounted for and processed in proper order. Processes all incoming and outgoing mail in an accurate and timely manner. Provides mail service, inventory control and administrative assistance to CareCentrix Claims Center associates and operations. Works under general supervision.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Manage multiple tasks, be detail oriented, be responsive, and demonstrate independent thought and critical thinking. 
  • Review and adhere to all Company policies and procedures and the Employee Handbook.
  • Open and sort mail (including paper claims and appeals) by provider, and distributes miscellaneous mail to appropriate personnel.
  • Date stamp all claims and correspondence within 24 hours and batches all claims by type.
  • Identify, log and return any “untimely” claims (based on comparison of date received to dates of service) to providers with appropriate cover letter.
  • Create and maintain paper claim files by processing team, provider and date received. Files processed claims by date processed and processor and archives quarterly.
  • Log all mail and maintain inventory control spreadsheets for all claims and appeals reflecting daily numbers received, processed and awaiting processing. Conducts physical inventories of paper claims and appeals periodically to assure accuracy of inventory control spreadsheets.
  • Research / distribute misdirected mail, locates / copies specific claims upon request, processes check tracers, provides general office maintenance, operates a postage machine for outbound mail, provides reception desk coverage and orders supplies.
  • Participate in and contributes to performance improvement activities. 
  • Participate in implementing / maintaining operational processes to ensure compliance to Company policies, legal requirements and regulatory mandates.
  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You should reach out if you have:

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent (required)
  • Minimum 1 year work experience (required)
  • One year clerical and systems experience (basic computer skills and proficiency in data entry) generally required.
  • Experience in using all types of office equipment is desired.
